Sensory Deprivation Tanks: Cosmic Cruising On Edibles
YOU NEED TO TRY THIS.
Greetings space cowboys. Have y’all heard of sensory deprivation tanks? If you haven’t, let me put you on some game. Sensory deprivation tanks or isolation tanks are used for restricted environmental stimulation therapy (REST). You’re basically floating naked in a light/soundproof tank of warm salt water. Left alone to nothing but your thoughts.
As soon as the tank lid closes, you are cut off from all outside stimulation, including sound, sight, and gravity. As you float weightless in the silence and darkness, the brain is supposed to enter into a deeply relaxed state. An almost out of body experience. Thanks to the water temperature matching the temperature of your skin, and the buoyancy caused by the epsom salt, you don’t know where your body starts or where it ends. You know your body is floating, you just have no idea what direction you’re floating in. You become disoriented. And you have no choice but to accept it.
The experience is already gnarly on it’s own. But having done it both sober and on edibles… let me tell ya, the synergistic dance you get by mixing THC and sensory deprivation tanks is beyond human comprehension. It’s a fucken journey through the cosmos… in a damn tank. It’s some total recall futuristic simulation type shit - I call it Organic VR.
Now as always, I wouldn’t recommend overdoing it. I would take just enough to get a slight high. Remember, the goal isn’t to get blasted. It’s to enhance an already galactic journey.
I took 2 10mg gummies when I did it. Which was perfect because had I taken any more, I would've had a full blown panic attack. Believe me, you don’t wanna have a panic attack in a float tank. It’ll be 100x worse than a regular panic attack which already isn’t fun. Luckily for me, it was the perfect dose. I’ll try to remember what I went through but the experience was so surreal that it’s hard to put into words.
My consciousness disconnected from my body
It felt like my consciousness was just floating in the abyss
I saw the cosmos, stars, nebulas, planets, and other otherworldly objects
I kept seeing the Buudabomb Logo but as an actual monk meditating
I saw faces of beings but I couldn’t figure out who they were
I couldn’t tell if I was dreaming or if I was awake (it’s so dark that opening your eyes makes no difference)
I felt like a born again baby
A sense of relaxation I’ve never felt in my life
I was just existing in the moment
A extreme sense of gratitude and joy
Feeling that everything was going to be alright
I knew what I had to do next (building Buudabomb into what it is today)
This might not be the outcome for everyone. My girlfriend for instance, had a completely different experience from me the first time she did it. She panicked and actually got out of the tank. It wasn’t until her 2nd or 3rd go that she got the full benefits. So don’t do this unless you’re ready. And maybe opt out of the edibles the first time you try it just to get yourself accustomed to it. I’m an extremist - a do or die type person so I dove in head first. But maybe work yourself up to the edibles. Most of these float places sell 3 session bundles anyway. I went to Float Toronto but that was years ago. Theres tons of these places all over now. Just got to hit up your trusty friend google.
Try it and let me know about your experiences. Honestly, email me and tell me about your experience, I’d love to hear about everyone's journeys and how different or similar they are.
As always, stay safe and much love.
